Chasing the rainbow in the thunderstorm

That moment when you find out your funding application for the upcoming academic year was not successful. You decide to first spend some 'quality' time feeling crappy. Then after sufficient 'feeling miserable' time has passed - not sure if that ever really passes or you just decide to refocus - you celebrate that you had actually made it to the last round. Even if you were chopped in the end, that is not the point (well it is and it isn't :-), my application was not as good as X number of applications but it was better than X number of applicants :-) Cheers to seeking the rainbow and the silver lining, even in a thunderstorm!
