Beyond the foliage

Many miles I have travelled

And a long way remains for me to go

I pause to reflect, in the stillness

Of beauty, hope, chaos, and desire

Of loss, gain, tears, and smiles

Of love, streaming down my face

My lips split wide open, by favour redeemed

I have come far, yet I am nowhere near my final destination

My purpose is yet to be fulfilled

A journey with more twists and turns to take

I lift my eyes and I see

Not too far off, just near enough

Yonder lies a branch across the way

With leaves still green

It beckons to me, calling

Telling me not to be wary

But to approach and gladly so

This seeming obstacle is but a mirage

Don't be fooled

Walk boldly and purposefully so

Draw near and go

Travel the wide open path

That lay beyond the foliage you now see
