A hole

There is a hole, a huge gaping hole.

It stretches far, it's wide and oh so deep.

I tried to fill it with rocks but soon I ran out of rocks.

I poured sand within but the sand trickled between the spaces left by the rocks.

I poured sand until I had no sand left.

I pumped water but the water soaked into the sand.

There is a hole, a hungry hole.

It takes everything and still cannot be filled.

It takes but never once gives.

There is a hole, an angry hole.

It spits and hisses, dark clouds escaping.

There is a hole, deep dark and yearning.

What if I plant a seed? Just one tiny seed?

Would I then be able to fill this hole?
